  • Width: 1220 mm
  • Thickness: 12 mm
  • Weight (Approx.): 25 kg per sheet

Material Composition

  • Core made of high-purity gypsum
  • Enhanced with hydrophobic (water-repellent) additives
  • Faced with moisture-resistant treated paper (green color)
  • May include silicone compounds and additives to reduce water absorption

Key Features

  • Moisture Resistance: Designed to resist humidity and damp conditions
  • Reduced Water Absorption: Special core limits swelling and deformation
  • Mold & Mildew Protection: Treated surface helps prevent fungal growth
  • Smooth Surface Finish: Suitable for paint, tiles, or wall coverings
  • Fire Resistance: Retains natural fire-resistant properties of gypsum
  • High Strength & Durability: 12mm thickness provides rigidity and stability

Identification

  • Typically green paper-faced board (industry standard for MR boards)
  • Marked or labeled as MR / Moisture Resistant

Applications

  • Bathrooms and washrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Laundry areas
  • Basements or humid spaces
  • Wall partitions and ceilings exposed to moisture

MR boards are commonly used where humidity is high but not direct water exposure.

Installation Compatibility

  • Suitable for metal framing systems (GI channels)
  • Can be tiled directly (with proper waterproofing where required)
  • Compatible with jointing compounds and finishing systems

Advantages

  • Prevents warping, swelling, and sagging in humid environments
  • Extends lifespan of interior finishes
  • Easy to cut, install, and finish
  • Ideal base for ceramic tiles in wet areas

Limitations

  • Not waterproof (should not be used in direct water exposure like shower interiors without waterproofing)
  • Requires proper sealing and ventilation
  • For extreme wet areas, cement board or waterproof boards are preferred
